Genshin Impact Launches HarmonyOS Beta Test for Huawei Devices

Huawei’s HarmonyOS, the biggest concern for many users is the compatibility issue, especially in the gaming sector. Fortunately, games like Honor of Kings from the Tencent ecosystem have already been adapted. Now, miHoYo’s Genshin Impact is recruiting HarmonyOS beta testers.
The official announcement from miHoYo states, “To ensure the compatibility of future versions with the HarmonyOS, this beta test is exclusively open to HarmonyOS users.” The testing period is from June 27, 2025, at 12:00 to July 4, 2025, at 14:00. The eligible Huawei phone models include the Mate 70 series, Mate 60 series, Mate X6 series, Mate X5 series, Pura 70 series, Pocket 2, Nova 12 series, Mate 70 Pro, Nova 13 series, Nova 14 series, and Pura 80 series. For tablets, the supported models include the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch and the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch Limited Edition.
It is noteworthy that the test eligibility is tied to the first device used for the test. Switching devices may result in automatic bans. After the testing period, the project team will reward players with a certain amount of gacha materials based on their test feedback and completion of tasks, and they may also distribute additional perks based on player performance.
Although this HarmonyOS beta test for Genshin Impact is a small matter, it reflects that major domestic game developers are beginning to develop native HarmonyOS applications. This is good news for Huawei users and Huawei’s HarmonyOS. With even a little compatibility update, there will come a day when it is fully covered.
