In terms of the storyline, “Genshin Impact” rivals “The Witcher 3.” In terms of world interaction, it is comparable to “Cooking Up a Storm.” In exploration, it is on par with “Goro Roll.” In battle systems, it is on par with “Monster Hunter.” In action experiences, it is on par with “Devil May Cry.” In terms of visual quality, it is on par with “Red Dead Redemption 2.” These benchmark games are all industry leaders in their respective fields. Instead of a one-on-one comparison, this game showcases its strengths across the board. I have never seen a game like this before, which explains its immense popularity.
I played “Genshin Impact” because my beloved “World of Warcraft” has shut down, and it was recommended by my friends. I ended up getting hooked, and it cost me a lot of money. I had never spent so much on “World of Warcraft” in my years of gaming. Among Chinese game developers, the level of dedication and craftsmanship shown in “Genshin Impact” is truly rare in my 20-year gaming career. For me, it is the continuous improvement in the game that keeps me playing. Several times, I have been tempted to quit but have returned because of big updates. I mostly pay for the monthly subscription, and I find the gameplay very enjoyable.
I treat “Genshin Impact” like a manga, and I like to play a bit to appreciate the storyline. Each country has its own story and gameplay. When I encounter a character I like, I will get it. I can play anyway. “Genshin Impact” does have its flaws that need improvement, but I don’t see anyone criticizing other games. This suggests that “Genshin Impact” is not as good as other Chinese games. Recently, a meme has been circulating online, saying that the chairs in “Genshin Impact” are actually usable. However, in Chinese games, there are very few chairs that can be sat on. People often ridicule “Genshin Impact,” saying it is inferior to “Red Dead Redemption 2,” “Mechanical Era,” “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” and “Cyberpunk 2077.” Why don’t they compare it with Chinese games? Could it be that it is simply not as good?
Even the best online games become garbage when managed by a group of “xx.” Besides, the game is not very good. The artwork and storyline are aimed at young children. I can only say that Chinese games are all terrible, and “Genshin Impact” has been pushed to an undeserved level of popularity. I haven’t played “Genshin Impact” for over a year. I spent around 40,000 yuan on it. I will check it out again when I have some free time. I don’t think it will affect my reputation. I will save up for the storyline and watch it slowly. The game content is rich and diverse, the storyline is captivating, the models are exquisite, and the gameplay is innovative. It does not restrict player spending or in-game activity, nor does it force players to achieve daily activity or social interaction. There is no membership VIP system, no PvP competition based on combat strength, no role elimination system, and no full elimination of equipment. Such a unique online game, if it can be found, “Genshin Impact” would not be as popular as it is.
Bluntly put, “Genshin Impact” may be one of the best games in China right now. Further elaborating, I believe “Genshin Impact” is one of the most accessible quality games for light players.
